A Typical Year
- Fall semester classes at RISD and Brown start in the same week
- RISD’s fall semester finals period ends about one week before Brown’s
- RISD Wintersession classes run from the first week of January through the first week of February (see Curricular Requirements)
- Brown’s spring semester classes begin the third week of January
- RISD’s spring semester classes begin in mid-February
- RISD and Brown’s spring breaks take place during the same week in late March
- Brown’s spring semester finals period ends about one week before RISD’s
- Brown’s commencement takes place one week before RISD’s
